ENGLISH ISSUES

Speeding, by Javier Rodriguez, 2ºESO B

Javier Rodríguez and Iván Rivas were driving their cars on a road in Spain when police cameras took a photo of them. They were both speeding, but Javier Rodriguez was driving faster than Iván Rivas.
Javier Rodriguez speed was 252 kms per hour. That´s a record speed on a Spain road. Javier Rodriguez and Iván Rivas went to prison for 28 days. Of course, they lost their driving licence “points”.

Shoplifting, by Iván Rivas, 2º ESO B

Yesterday, I saw a shoplifting. It took place at about half-past seven. I was looking for some clothes. Then, I saw two young men they were stealing expensive clothes from the stands without being noticed…
I let the shop assistants to know what was happening. They and the security men were waiting for the thieves outside the establishment. They avoided the robbers to get away. They caught the thieves and picked them up to the police station.
The shop owner was really grateful. He gave me a gift voucher to spend in the shop in appreciation of all I have done.
I´ll gladly spend it.

In front of my house, by Noelia Gallardo, 2º ESO B

It happened on the 25th of March. It was early in the morning… I was at home. Suddenly, I heard an odd noise in the street. Before going out to see what had happened, I looked out of the window to see what happened. I saw a woman. She was lying on the floor and shouting for help. There was a man who was driving a “stolen” car. The car was a black Mercedes Benz class C and the man was very little. He had long black beard and black hair. He was wearing purple glasses and blue trousers. He speeded away, but I took a photo with my mobile phone.
I ran out to help the woman. This man was a famous thief. The police had long been looking for him. He had stolen her purse and gold bracelet and he pushed her onto the floor.
My father picked us up to the police station, there I told the police officer what I had seen.
After two months the thief has not been found yet. Maybe… he´s gone to another country.

I was a witness by Luis Carrasco, 2º ESO B

I was a witness of a shoplifting last week and I saw the robber. As I was a witness, I went to the police station. I told the police officer all about the crime. It was about half past five in the evening. I was at The Lefties shop. I was inside and looking for some clothes when I saw a strange man. He was tall and slim, well built. He was a black man. He took some sport clothes and he ran away without being noticed by the shop assistant. I let her know about the shoplifting and she asked me politely to testify.
So I went to the police station and I testified as a witness.
